Carglass is een bedrijf op het gebied van autoruitreparatie en autoruitvervanging. Carglass is onderdeel van Belron. Binnen deze onderneming ben ik werkzaam als business controller sinds september 2006. Carglass werd in 1979 opgericht door de Belgische familie Leroi. Deze familie had in België al een groothandel in autoruiten. Carglass B.V. werd in Nederland op 14 januari 1982 opgericht door de overname van groothandel Mobielglas. Het eerste eigen filiaal werd gestart in Eindhoven, waarna Heerlen snel volgde. Inmiddels heeft Carglass in Nederland 58 servicecentra en een wagenpark van meer dan 200 bussen. Sinds 1987 is Carglass onderdeel van de Zuid-Afrikaanse groep Belron. Eind jaren '90 viel Carglass opnieuw in Belgische handen doordat de autogroep D'Ieteren een meerderheid kocht in Belron. De resterende aandelen zijn in handen van de Belgische investeringsgroep Cobepa.
