John has a B.S. in mechanical engineering and a M.S and Ph.D. in materials science/physics with a diverse career spanning physics modeling and engineering development of semiconductor materials, high temperature material reaction kinetics, innovative silicon carbide ceramics and composite materials with technology transfer through product engineering, manufacturing including international business development in Japan, Korea, Asia, India, Middle East and Europe. Program and technical leadership included development of innovative silicon carbide materials for nuclear and fusion reactor applications, specialized hardware for fast (nano second) optical sensors, hypersonics, turbines engines, lasers, ballistic projectiles and high performance armor. John has co-authored over 40+ open literature publications, with 22+ patents and 15+ pending. He was the former PM with DuPont Lanxide leading CMC and MMC composite prototyping of advanced turbine engine, hypersonic (mach 6) and rocket hardware for leading OEMs. He was VP of Dynamic Defense Materials developing patented armor systems now fielded the Middle East. John served as Armor Program Lead (2006-2012) for National and Homeland Security Directorate at Idaho National Laboratory developing lightweight novel armor systems against 50 cal, RPG and EFP threats. He is the Founder/CTO of Advanced Ceramic Fibers, LLC. established in November 2012.
