About John Griffith

My training as microbiologist at Colorado State University led me on a circuitous pathway from academia to industry. Whether I was developing assays to identify emerging infectious diseases in mountain lions, determining genetic markers of pesticide resistance in weeds, or leading clinical trials that would help bring novel antimicrobials to market, I always had a fermenter of some interesting brew going on back at the house. The entrepreneurial spirit was a part of my fabric and selling my hand-bottled, un-bonded beverages in the parking lot of Red Rocks helped me through the lean college years. While pursuing a graduate degree at CSU, I had an advisor recommend that I switch course and focus on brewing science. Had I heeded that wisdom, I certainly would have saved some time and stress. With that said, I couldn't be more grateful for all of the experiences that led me to my current role as CEO of Zesty Beverages. My time is now dedicated to helping solve problems for my customers, co-workers, and partners. I'm blessed to work with an incredible team of individuals who are all committed to Zesty's mission of continuously improving the Standard American Diet by crafting beverages with fewer calories and more nutrients.
