About John Gunn

I began my journey as a suicidologist while still an undergraduate student at Stockton University, where I worked under the prolific suicidologist David Lester, PhD. As a graduate student at Rutgers Camden, I worked on suicide notes and received my Master's in psychology. From there I went to Montclair State University, where I received my PhD in family science and human development. After graduate school I served as a Postdoctoral research assistant at Rutgers University New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center. I joined the faculty at Gwynedd Mercy University in the Fall of 2021, where I serve as an Assistant Professor of Psychology. Typical courses taught are: statistics, research methods, experimental psychology and electives such as child psychology and making sense of suicide.
