Background

About John Gutierrez

I am a recent UCR electrical engineering graduate. I am searching for an internship or full-time position that will allow me to utilize my abilities obtained in the classroom/laboratory and learn new skills along the way. My experience with microcontrollers, laboratory equipment/projects/reports, and customer service enable me to work with teammates to complete meaningful projects in a timely manner without sacrificing quality. I am comfortable in a fast-paced work environment and eager to learn new skills to establish my engineering career. Additionally, I am a people-person. I enjoy communicating face-to-face with colleagues to discuss work and solve problems. While attending UCR full-time as an undergraduate, I worked as a Residential Advisor/Program Coordinator. When I wasn't busy studying for exams or working on a project, I was hosting programs for first-year university students to help them transition to college-life. Working with university first-years was a rewarding experience, and I discovered that I could apply techniques that I have learned at work to my engineering career. My career interests are solar cells, computer vision, embedded systems programming, hardware engineering, or similar fields. With my leadership in working with first-year university students, I know how to work effectively in a team setting. I desire to help companies with innovative projects that solve society's problems. In my free time, I enjoy watching Marvel movies, cooking, listening to podcasts, working out, and playing videogames. I am also currently learning Spanish.
