About John Hammond

Mankind has made many significant strides towards shaping the world we live in today. However, such a rapid development has also resulted in costs that have affected the environment and society, and thereby, the economy as well. Expanding on the Brundtland Report’s definition for sustainable development: it is vital that we now consider the consequences of our actions for future generations. The common misconception with sustainability is the duality between environmental protection and social preservation versus economic growth. I believe that the economic potential for being socially-responsible and using the full value of nature is much greater than progressing with the business-as-usual mentality. However, this all starts with the recognition that change needs to occur now before the future environmental, social, and economical costs become too great. I strive to contribute to this change and make the world a better place for current and future generations to come.
