About John Hansen

It takes hard work, dedication, and the people that surround you to make you successful. I was lucky enough to realize this early in my career due to being surrounded by phenomenal mentors, peers, subordinates, and the most supportive family ever. These key aspects in my life are why I am where I am today. My passion is flying, leading, and mentoring people. I have had the honor and privilege of doing those three things throughout my military career, and I consider myself one of the luckiest individuals on this planet. To sound cliché, as President John F. Kennedy stated ""Any man [or woman] who may be asked in this century what he [or she] did to make his [or her] life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction,'I served in the United States Navy'". During my 20+ year military career I have been given the privilege to lead men and women from all walks of life ranging from groups as small as 25 people to as large as over 200 people. I would like to think that I have had a positive impact on most of the people I worked with, and that I have been able to pass on the same guidance and mentorship that I was so lucky to receive. I was blessed to be a two-time finalist for the Navy and Marine Corps Association Peer leadership award, which is a peer nominated and decided award during my career. I am an experienced Naval Aviator with over 2400 hours in various military aircraft, as well as 500+ hours, and counting, in general aviation and commercial fixed-wing aircraft. I have my commercial pilot's license for both single-engine airplane (land), multi-engine airplane (land), helicopter-rotorcraft, and my ATP. I am instrument rated in both airplanes and helicopters with over 850+ hours experience in IMC conditions. I am a certified military flight instructor, instrument check pilot, maintenance check pilot, and standardization check pilot. I was the Squadron and Wing Pilot of the Year in 2012 during my first operational flying tour. My educational background is in Information Technology Management, Business Management, and strategic military planning and operations. I have been able to use all of these during my career through the management of people, assets and supply chain logistics valued in excess of $450 million dollars, and large-scale military exercises and operations.
