I’m John Harding and, for the past 33 years, I have been specializing in “Low Stress” Home loans. For the past 14 years, I have focused almost exclusively on providing FHA insured HECM Reverse Mortgages for my senior clients. As a Reverse Mortgage Loan Originator, I serve the senior community by taking the time to explain, in detail, the pros and cons of utilizing a Reverse Mortgage to improve cash-flow by eliminating your existing mortgage payment and/or providing a “safety net” to make sure you have access to a portion of your home equity if you need it. A Reverse Mortgage can also enable you to make repairs on your home or pay for medical bills, long-term care insurance premiums, in-home care, etc. Financial planners are also now realizing that a Reverse Mortgage can be a valuable financial tool when it comes to strategic retirement planning. It can be used to delay taking Social Security or utilized as an integral part of your overall financial plan in conjunction with your investment portfolio to preserve your other assets under management. My goal is to make sure you fully understand what your options are, whether you decide to utilize a Reverse mortgage or not. As a public service, I also provide a “Fraud Prevention for Seniors” workshop at Retirement Homes, Senior Centers, Churches, Banks and Credit Unions around the Puget Sound. In this presentation, I explain why Seniors are targeted by scammers, why they fall victims to the plethora of scams out there, the “red flags” to look for and how they can avoid becoming a victim.
