About John Hardy

I have a keen interest in Graphic and UX (usability) Design, graduating from Northumbria University in 2002 with a degree in Multimedia Design. I have since had a varied career involving a broad range of skills and techniques: project management, website design, poster design, flyer design, brochure production, magazines layout and printing, logo design and animated cinema advertisements. In 2006 I started with my current employer, Newcastle Building Society, working for the 3rd party services arm of the business, NSSL (Newcastle Strategic Solutions LTD), who resell and maintain an end to end online savings solution used by challenger banks. In 2008 I was made, Web Services, department team leader, officially becoming department manager in 2015, managing a varied team of developers/designers, which I still do now. I have also followed a few interests outside of my regular job which have lead me to guest lecturer at Northumbria University, teaching Web Design & UX practices for a year. Additionally I have a strong interest in music which led me to set-up, run and perform as a DJ for a weekly club night in Newcastle called “Get y’ Skates On”, which was locally massively well received and ran for over 10 years. I have, and will always have, a strong love for graphics, design and music that has served me well in my career and I hope will serve me just as well going forward.
