About John Haworth

John Haworth is the Deputy of Company Supervision for the Washington State Office of Insurance Commissioner. John has been involved in insurance for 30 years. He began work as an enrollment analyst for a health carrier in 1989, later to become an insurance producer and a manager for group enrollment. In 2002, he began work at the WA Office of Insurance Commissioner as a rates and forms analyst then transferred to a senior market analyst position in 2007. In 2011, he was promoted to Chief Market Analyst and then manager in 2016. He is currently the vice-chair of the NAIC’s Market Analysis Procedures (D) Working Group as well as staffs the chair of the Market Regulation Certification (D) Working Group. He has a BA in economics from Western Washington University and a MBA in healthcare administration from City University. He holds a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, a Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation, a Certified Insurance Examiner (CIE) designation and a Market Conduct Management (MCM) designation. He is also a recipient of the 2019 Washington Governor’s Leadership in Management award. He regularly serves a faculty for AICP, NAIC, IRES, and IRES Foundation training sessions. He is also on the IRES board.
