About John Henderson

I am a Non-Executive Director, Advisory Board Member, Company Director and Project Executive who brings 40 years industry experience and over 5 years board level experience, with specific expertise in the mining, oil & gas and management consulting industries. I now provide these skills on an ad-hoc, advisory basis as I transition towards retirement. At board level, I contribute my deep understanding of mining and energy projects, which includes a comprehensive experience-based understanding of scope, cost, performance and risk governance through the entire project life cycle, from early concept development through feasibility assessment, implementation and operation. In an executive capacity, until February this year I held an equity partnership in Siecap Pty Ltd, a project management advisory and consultancy firm, where I was the Head of Advisory for our energy and project development practices. I directed Siecap’s strategic advisory, consulting and project management services for mining, petroleum and energy clients, who range from listed small caps to multinationals. I am the founder and Executive Director of Inkwazi Energy which focuses on advisory and strategic consulting to governments, national oil companies and other parastatal agencies in developing nations. Earlier, I developed Rio Tinto’s unconventional energy project portfolio in Mozambique. Finally, I completed an MBA masters’ degree in 2001, am a Certified Practicing Project Manager and graduated with an Associate Diploma of Mechanical Engineering in 1994. I am a Graduate of the AICD’s Company Directors Course.
