About John Henry

I’m a designer and creative thinker who likes finding simple, effective ways to bring ideas to life. That might be a brand identity, a website, or a better way to run something behind the scenes. I’ve worked across design, marketing, operations, and education, often jumping between the creative and the practical (sometimes in the same hour). I’m also a qualified teacher and have worked in education and training on and off since 2006. That background has shaped how I work with people. I care about clear communication, making things easier to understand, and helping others do what they do well. Throughout everything I’ve done, building strong relationships has been a big part of it. I’ve always taken time to connect with people, build trust, and work in a way that feels collaborative rather than transactional. One of my proudest achievements is co-founding Merch Window, an e-commerce platform that helps creators and brands offer their own custom merchandise across Australia. We keep things lean, simple, and focused on doing good work without overcomplicating it. Outside of work, I’m most at home with my family, even though we’re often out and about at kids’ sports and activities. When I get the chance, I’ll sneak in a quick adventure on my motorbike, either solo or with mates, catch some live music, or spend time exploring my beautiful island home. I love the idea of world travel, even if it doesn’t happen as much as I’d like, and I’ll happily watch most sports without knowing anything about it. Being a father grounds me, challenges me, and brings the most joy. It’s also probably why I value clarity, patience, and staying curious. Some days, as a parent, I surprise myself. Other days, I put my keys in the fridge.
