Hi, I’m Jack Herring—a motivated dual-degree student at UNC-Chapel Hill, pursuing my B.A. in Data Science and B.S. in Information Science. I believe numbers tell powerful stories—and I’m here to help uncover and amplify them. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by why people show up, engage, and care. From packed college stadiums to user dashboards, I’ve always chased what drives action—and how we can optimize it. Whether I’m writing SQL queries or leading chants as the Gameday Affairs Director for Carolina Fever, I’m driven by a desire to create meaningful experiences that connect, inspire, and improve outcomes. What I do (and what I can do for you): I help teams—especially in business, sports, and social impact—translate data into strategies that drive better decisions, deeper engagement, and smarter growth. I use tools like: • SQL, Python, and Excel • Data visualization, exploratory data analysis, and statistical modeling • User engagement strategies and fan experience design But more importantly, I combine those skills with leadership, empathy, and a willingness to dive into complex challenges and figure them out with others. A few things I’m most proud of: Directed gameday engagement for UNC’s largest student fan organization Completed 100+ hours of community service through Scouts BSA and my church, including housing improvement work in underserved areas Led student volunteers and teams, turning ideas into action and events into unforgettable moments Currently building a strong foundation in data wrangling, visualization, and storytelling—and hungry for more real-world impact I believe in doing work that’s meaningful, collaborative, and human. I love learning from others, asking questions, and staying curious. I’m not just looking for a job—I’m looking for a mission where I can contribute, grow, and help others succeed. Let’s connect!
