About John Herrity

John’s career in the events industry started as early as high school, where he blended his passion for live music with electives in sound, lighting and production. Following this up with an advanced diploma in audio engineering and sound production, his first full time job was with Staging Connections as a trainee technician. Quickly promoted to full time crew and then to management, he combined his technical expertise with a natural flair for communication to become manager of numerous venues, culminating at Grand Hyatt Melbourne during the formative years of the Staging Connections tenure. For 5 years he worked as a national account manager at the Melbourne base sales office, responsible for some of our largest clients and managed all manner of events from high end conferences to theatrical gala dinners. Recently John has just taken up the position of Project Manager at Haycom and looks forward to continuing to experiment with new ideas and new ways to do things, stretching the imagination and challenging the technical capabilities of the team.
