About John Hoang

Initially I was interested in the field of Genomics, to personalize medicine, the potential for gene editing, and biological discovery. I realized deep into my studies of molecular biology and biochemistry, that I no longer wanted to pursue this career. I did not see my future in this field, as much as I was committed to it. I started to branch out and dip into various disciplines and nothing clicked. I then tried a bit of programming and the coding process to have the design, reasoning, and presentation aspects I wanted in a career. I have recently graduated from the BCIT Artificial Intelligence option. I worked as a bartender/server at Stanley Park Bar and Grill. This was a seasonal job that taught me pressure, empathy, and teamwork. I grew up a lot from this place and its people and it takes a place in everything I do. Currently I work at PortLink as a Technical Business Analyst.
