About John Hoechst

History of my professional career. In I was promoted to project manager in Orlando, FL and then I was promoted Survey Manager of the Northwestern offices in Montana and Utah with Mactec. During I obtained my license as a Professional Land Surveyor in three states FL, MT, & UT. In July of 2001 I joined Montana Dept. of Transportation in the Photogrammetry and Survey Section as a Project Manager. While I did a lot of survey review in this job my main focus was performing GPS static control surveys throughout the state of Montana. In Sept. of 2005 I was promoted to the Butte District Survey Manager. This job afforded me more opportunities to be a leader within MDT surveying department and my community. In this job I managed all the professional surveying service for the Montana Highway Department for entire southwest portion of the state. In February of 2006 I wrote the cover article for Point of Beginning (POB) magazine. November of 2015 I accepted a job as the Senior Land Surveyor with Northwestern Energy. I support primarily the electrical engineers within the transmission line department. I also support gas transmission, electrical distribution, substations, and hydro departments. April of 2023 obtained my license as Professional Land Surveyor in North Carolina. L-5539
