About John Hoving

John Hoving - An Addictions Specialist formally working with High Watch Recovery in Kent, CT & In a Private Practice in Kent & New York City. An avid defender of the environment, Mr. Hoving is also a seasoned veteran of the intricacies of non-profit organizations and an expert in event production and coordination. He was formerly Associate Director of Design and Product Development at Tiffany & Co. Mr. Hoving started his non-profit career in 1985 as the Assistant Director of the international relief and development agency CARE and then became Development Director of Riverkeeper, where he was responsible for all fund-raising endeavors, public relations, special events, merchandising and licensing. Mr. Hoving worked as the Vice President of Development at the Caron Foundation, where he successfully produced “A Musical Tribute to the Beatles” honoring Tom Freston, Chairman & CEO of MTV Networks. He has worked extensively on development projects with Waterkeeper Alliance from its inception until very recently. He is a graduate of New York University and holds a master’s degree in clinical social work from Fordham University. Mr. Hoving has extensive experience working with a diverse client base suffering from addiction and coexisting mood and personality disorders. He consults with with individuals, families and corporations on substance abuse issues providing information, direction, therapeutic guidance and intervention when clinically necessary. He is licensed to practice clinical social work State of Connecticut and as a Licensed Master Social Worker in the states of New York, Massachusetts and Georgia. He has been trained in: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Techniques and works with a Certified Therapy Dog,"Starbuck" who has proven to be very effective with clients in his clinical practice.
