About John Hubbell

From very early in my life till today I have had two parallel and complementary interests: sport and business. My sports highlight was representing Canada as an Olympian and business was the establishment of our family office with my wife and our two adult children, who also are elite athletes and successful business people. The majority of my 50 year career has been working in the small business sector. For the first ten years I was an owner of a small manufacturing firm. This was a great business educational experience. Those ten years covered start-up, boom to bust, turn-around and divestiture. Then for the next 20 year I worked as corporate finance consultant with small business owners and raising capital for small business owners as an exempt market dealer, and for the last 15 years investing in small businesses. Because of that 50 year career I am confident to say that I am an expert in investing and the development of the innovative investment process. During that time there have been some significant losses and some great successes but my love for the entrepreneurial venture has never been lost. Today my focus as Chairman of Hubbell Ventures Limited, Phundex Limited and The Environs Group is to direct, promote and support the development of those business and mentor the Associates of Phundex and The Environs Group to achieve their personal and corporate commercial potential.
