About John Hunt

I have a number of complimentary roles working within lens based media, lighting and education. I have been a professional photographer and filmmaker for over twenty years. I shoot and light photographic shoots in the studio and on location for a wide range of corporate, commercial and charity clients. As a filmmaker I produce, script, direct, shoot, edit and motion design, again for a large number of clients including the NHS. As a media trainer, I work with a wide range of companies and organisations, such as Oxford University, The Open University, IMG Media Group, Dyson and Screwfix to name a few. I am a part-time senior Lecturer in Photography at the University of Northampton and a visiting lecturer at the University of Winchester and Buckinghamshire New University where I teach filmmaking and cinematography. I also deliver lighting and cinematography workshops to students at Rose Bruford School of Theatre and Performance. I hold an MA with Distinction in Film, Photography and Media from the University of Leeds, and I am working on a PhD application. I am a tutor at Film Oxford teaching lighting and cinematography. I am a management trustee for Film Oxford and the chair of directors for Film Oxford Productions. I am on the board of trustees for Photo Oxford, biannual International Photo Festival. I am Oxford-based, although my work takes me across the UK and occasionally overseas.
