About John Hutton

A retired Chartered Mechanical Engineer with over 35 years multi-discipline experience in the oil & gas industry in both the downstream and upstream industry including onshore and offshore environments. Roles undertaken have involved facilities engineering, plant inspection, construction, commissioning, maintenance, CMMS implementation, refinery management and latterly asset integrity management. Initial experience in the oil & gas industry was with BP over a 16 year career that included Grangemouth Refinery & Chemical Works before moving to Aberdeen for offshore experience in support of the Forties Field then to the Dorset for the major Wytch Farm onshore oilfield development. My subsequent career in the UK was involved with Mainternance Management consultancy and O&M Performance Improvement Management contracts, primarily at Shellhaven and Coryton Refineries, before being recruited by Petrofac in 2002 where I have worked internationally on maintenance, management, transition, engineering and asset integrity roles in countries including Bolivia, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Sudan, UAE and Romania. In March 2012, I was appointed as Asset Integrity Assurance Manager - based in London- but with responsibility for assessment and development of our Asset Integrity Assurance capability on our Petrofac IES projects and operations world-wide. These assets currently extend from Mexico in the West to Malaysia in the Far East with numerous locations in between. A key aspect of the role is auditting of our projects and operations in accordance with the Petrofac Asset Interity Framework and supporting the projects and assets to resolve deficiencies.
