About John Ikard

Long term CEO of one of the most profitable banks in the Country (ROE in the top.1% over last 20 years). FirstBank recorded 12 consecutive years of record profits from 2006 to 2017, including during the financial crisis). I served as CEO starting in and developed an outstanding succession team. Stepped down as FirstBank CEO in early 2017 but remain on FirstBank Board. Numerous leadership positions including past Chairman of the American Bankers Association (country’s largest financial trade association), past Chairman of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, past Chairman of Denver Economic Development Corp, past Chairman of the Denver Boy Scout Council, past Chairman of Colorado Concern (Colorado’s most influential business/political organization. Current Chairman of the National Western Center Authority overseeing the billion dollar redevelopment of the National Western Center. Currently serve on the boards of the Women’s Foundation of Colorado, Children’s Hospital of Colorado, and the Denver Scholarship Foundation. Received the prestigious American Banker’s “Banker of the Year” award in 2010 based on FirstBank’s performance during the financial crisis. Developed a charitable giving culture at FirstBank as the bank was the 2nd largest corporate contributor in the State of Colorado for the years 2014-2016. FirstBank voted “Best Places to Work” for six consecutive years. Received ethics in business award and the Mizel Community Enrichment award in 2018, Colorado’s most coveted community service recognition. Served on the Kansas City Federal Reserve Board of Kansas City during the financial crisis (2008 - 2014). I’ve been blessed with a wonderful professional career and look forward to my next challenge.
