Hello. We all have a story to share, and I look forward to hearing yours. Please allow me to share one of mine, on how I became involved in the field of Sustainable Investing / SRI (Socially Responsible Investing) and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Investing. Although it seems to be more in the news today, for me, it started with a question many years ago. “Daddy, what do you do for work?” I told my then-Kindergarten (now Senior in High School) son simply that I helped people make better financial decisions. Assuming we were finished, I reached for the Legos, only to be taken aback when he asked, “How does that help Mother Nature?” How indeed. And that’s what started my journey, passion and expertise in SRI and ESG investing. Many of my clients want to not only make money but make a difference, and align their investments with their goals. Socially Responsible Investments and ESG Investing can allow them to pursue both. Whether it’s solutions for individuals, mission aligned 401(k) plans or college savings, I’d welcome the opportunity to explore and work together on the best fit for you. You can view my industry credentials but, as an independent advisor and fiduciary, I’ve been working with individuals, teachers and educators, families and business owners for over 20 years. Like many of my clients, I’m a small business owner, and I work well with them and their families, probably because I relate to so many of the complex and challenging financial issues they face every day. It’s a great feeling when we identify, brainstorm ideas and solutions, put them in place and monitor them to see the results. Many individuals and business owners are active in the communities they serve and live in. We have a similar work ethic and values. Successful business-owners truly appreciate their clients, and their customers trust and confidence. They also value their employees, business partners and families. We’ve found there are often no simple questions and easy answers. When helping people plan for their tomorrows, we need to dig deep to make sure they are enjoying the journey along the way, as well as achieving their most important goals.
