UNSW Conjoint Associate Professor Dr John Kasinathan is a senior forensic, child and adolescent psychiatrist. His specialist appointments are Clinical Director Adolescent Mental Health with Justice Health NSW; and Medical Director for the private adolescent and young adult program at Ramsay Clinic Northside. For over a decade he clinically led the first ever high-secure adolescent forensic psychiatric unit in Australia. His research and clinical interests include ADHD comorbidity, appraisal of imminent aggression and re-offending in adolescents, interpersonal self-harm drivers in prisoners, psychopharmacology addressing violence in adolescents and the management of sexual deviance in youth.
