About John Keen

Throughout my career as a president and project/maintenance engineer, I have built a record of achievement, guiding teams to excellence and achieving goals through personal growth. To achieve outcomes, I leverage a balanced focus on strategies in developing innovative methodologies and mentoring others to do the same. As a strategic team-oriented leader, I am looking toward more sustainable organizations where I can bring my diverse experience in technology/system implementation, program coordination, operations management, sustainable designs, scope definition, construction oversight, and program coordination. I am enthusiastic about partnering with future-facing groups requiring my level of skills in team leadership, project management, rapid prototyping, and unique problem solving. As a strong professional with additional experience in project requirements gathering, team/contractor initiative direction, safety protocols, staff training/development, and system integrations—I welcome our connection! Please note the following highlights from my career… • Designed world-class HVAC system through collaborative efforts, driving cohort to define unique issues, developing a working software model of the issues, and implementing real-world solutions in a timely manner. • Mentored junior members to succeed in chosen fields. Coached working fundamentals to allow people to manage design-related issues. • Completed unfunded Master’s program at the University of Victoria while working full time (50 hrs/week). Designed and built a laboratory at the work site (after hours) in order to simulate activities normally done in the UVic Robotics and Mechanisms (RAM) lab.
