About John Kinney

Innovation is my passion. I believe processes can be improved through my strong attention to detail. The idea of working smarter is a driving principle in my work. I use my critical thinking and problem-solving skills to reach these outcomes through collaboration with peers in order to produce the best possible results. My experiences have afforded me a wide variety of opportunities that allowed me to discover my passions, grow professionally, and develop a variety of skills in different industries and landscapes. This has given me a unique perspective regarding the interconnected nature of today's modern work environment. While working as an electrician, I helped innovate different ways to improve the safety and efficiency of projects. As a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Wake Forest Cheer Team, I turned my vision for positive change to unite the athletic community into legislation that ultimately influenced the ACC's Unity initiative. I also was the 2022 recipient of the Coach's Award given to the athlete who demonstrated superior leadership capabilities. As an intern with the US Marshals, I collaborated with other interns and deputies to complete office projects. I helped execute live-simulation drills to better train and execute operations while in the field. During my time as an Intern in Wake Forest's Fan Experience Department, I have helped create and brainstorm a number of innovative ways to help fan engagement in a COVID-19 landscape while working with a team of 25+ other interns and staffers.
