About John Lash

16 years of professional experience, 13 years as an instructor- Expert leader, communicator and instructor specializing in curriculum development, digital engagement, and training- Broad experience with virtual, distance and in-person instruction for colleagues and students in large and small group settings- Managed teams with direct reports, balancing multiple stakeholders, deadlines, protocols, fund raising, and budgets- Collaborated directly with senior management and the community- Developed and implemented multiple engagement initiatives and content strategies based on data collection and analysis. Teaching As a teacher, I use history and technology to help students realize that history is not a passive experience, but an active discussion of which they are an essential part. The cornerstone of my personal teaching philosophy is the need to educate the entire student. Academically, I encourage my students to apply what they learn in my classroom across the curriculum and I provide assignments that require students to take skills and knowledge from other courses and apply them to history. By teaching my students to critically read, analyze and discuss history, I hope to prepare them for their future academic and professional careers.
