I am a dedicated and passionate mainframe programmer analyst currently employed by Westfield on the SOA (service orientated architecture) team. I have over 30 years of experience across a wide variety of industries. I have designed and developed software solutions for the property and casualty Insurance industry, in health insurance, worked in banking my background also includes stints with several software vendors. I really enjoy designing solutions for cross platform communication. I led the effort to put Java under CICS to provide services on the mainframe at Westfield. I was the first to utilize Java on the mainframe at Westfield. Utilizing this approach has reduced Westfield's cost to deliver the services by 2/3. I also lead the infrastructure side of this effort. I am very proud of this because when I started it I had no formal training in Java. No discussion of my work at Westfield would be complete without mentioning the Service Consumer Framework. This is a reusable set of programs to consume services from the mainframe platform. This use of this framework of programs is ubiquitous across Westfield's mainframe environment; used in both online and batch it supports both synchronous and asynchronous messaging. Today Westfield could not do business if this framework disappeared it's use is that wide spread. The use of the service consumer framework I designed also resulted in increased agility across the IT enterprise. I am 57 years old; married for thirty years and have two sons. I currently reside in Medina OH.
