John is an Applications Manager using disruptive technologies to generate marketing content and collateral for scientists conducting genomics research and drug discovery toward personalized medicine. He is an accomplished and innovative technical leader with extensive experience in overseeing and directing application development initiatives and teams to support customers and sales. John is a proven collaborator with demonstrated success in building on customer and industry relationships to support commercial growth and guide product development. At Labcyte, John gained experience in product development, commercial and technical marketing, field applications, sales enablement, and customer support. His expertise in evaluating customer and workflow requirements, troubleshooting biology, and assay development provide value as a customer-facing Senior Scientist. Prior to Labcyte, John contributed to the molecular pharmacology team at Genentech with work spanning target identification to IND for project teams and international collaborators in oncology, immunology, and neuroscience. He provided support with novel cellular and biochemical assay development for uHTS, SAR, MOA, signal transduction, and safety studies. Previously, John gained extensive drug discovery experience in diverse pharmaceutical company environments studying over 45 various targets in a hand-full of therapeutic areas. At one time, John established a lab to de-orphanize 7TM pheromone / chemosensory receptors. John went to Providence, R.I, to earn his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Brown University and play water polo then returned home to California.
