Procurement is no longer the group that processes requisitions for purchase orders. Procurement is now viewed (or should be) as a "change agent". Once considered a cost center, procurement through strategic sourcing is now seen as a value adding function. Procurement is becoming a productivity center, focusing on continuous improvement activities. The strategic global sourcing process is only the start of developing a "world class" purchasing group. Done right, sourcing can drive sales and bring innovation to the organization, driving out costs and developing a cost efficient supply chain that both partners can benefit from. I consider myself a self-starter; thrives on helping, coaching, mentoring and leading others. Highly energetic individual who loves taking an idea and developing a cross functional team to achieve superior results.
