Water Resources Supervisor at United Water Conservation District, working on water-supply and recharge projects, currently focused primarily on groundwater sustainability planning in southern Ventura County. This work includes evaluating hydrogeologic conditions, estimating sustainable yield, helping develop sustainability criteria for both groundwater quality and quantity, forecasting (modeling) future conditions, and engaging with the public and stakeholders to develop strategies to achieve and maintain healthy groundwater conditions- Formerly a consulting hydrogeologist and project manager with over 20 years of experience performing and managing a variety of environmental and groundwater supply projects. Areas of expertise include performance and management of Remedial Investigations/Feasibility Studies for hazardous waste sites, planning and implementation of water-supply investigations, numerical and analytical modeling of groundwater flow and chemical transport in both the saturated zone and the vadose zone, investigation of groundwater supply and recharge potential, construction and sampling groundwater and soil vapor wells, and planning and optimization of groundwater and soil vapor extraction and treatment systems. In addition to technical work, I have managed more than 20 projects for government and commercial clients, ranging in value from as little as to over $2 million. Distinguishing qualifications include: • Conducting and managing hydrogeologic investigations, including groundwater supply and recharge studies, Superfund Remedial Investigations/Feasibility Studies, and environmental impact studies • Application of advanced methods, including groundwater and vadose-zone modeling, and geochemical analysis to hydrogeologic investigations • Providing technical leadership (modeling and geochemical evaluation) for Remedial Investigations and Feasibility Studies of groundwater contaminated by metals (chromium, mercury, and arsenic) and volatile organic compounds • Former leader of CH2M HILL’s Hydrogeology Community of Practice, Field Methods and Site Characterization subgroup Specialties: Groundwater modeling, vadose zone modeling, VOC fate and transport, chromium fate and transport, managing technically challenging projects.
