About John Liwag

John Liwag is a Filipino-American artist, creative director, photographer, and designer, living/working in Los Angeles, California. Over the past 15 years as a full-time creator, I have been working heavily in the music space. From creative directing full album campaigns, designing music album cover art, to designing artist tour merch, to film directing music videos, commercials, mini-docs, merch lookbooks, to going on tours with artists like Porter Robinson, Flume, Hayden James, Manila Killa and Phantoms. Music is where I started but have since branched out and expanded the industries I work in to art, fashion, television and film.My work has been featured on VOGUE, Hypebeast, Billboard, Pigeons & Planes, Los Angeles Times, PAPER Magazine, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Consequence of Sound, EARMILK, TMZ, and designboom, among others.In 2024 at heds, I was instrumental in establishing the brand identity and fostering a vibrant community through our first physical location on Melrose in Los Angeles. Our team's efforts in branding, particularly through Instagram and YouTube, culminated in the successful launch of hedsRADIO and numerous unique shows/events that showcased the LA electronic music producer and dj culture while participating in myself. My role extended beyond creative direction, embracing graphic design and photography to create a cohesive and engaging brand experience.With over a decade in the creative field, my journey has been defined by a passion for crafting compelling narratives through visual design and storytelling.
