The Accenture 'Global Disruption Index'(2023), based on 6 factors *), shows that the world saw a 200% disruptions increase from 2017 to 2022. In contrast, this index rose only 4% from 2011 to 2016. Companies today face a permanent state of change at a pace as never seen before and we clearly see the impact on organizations and people. Technology, consumer preferences and climate change in particular are driving massive structural shifts in how the world operates. On top we can add consequences of geopolitical, economic tariffs and the Russian Invasion of Ukraine as, hopefully, temporary shifts. What we also see is the S-curve of companies shorten faster, from a strategy / business plan with an average lifecycle of 37,5 years in the 1960's to an average of 3 years in 2020. In 2024 20,6 % of companies reported they had to reinvent their strategy every year. Companies need to take a radically different approach to how they strategize and lead their business. The approach as coined 'total enterprise reinvention' is imperative for remaining competitive. My Reinvention approach is strength based on Appreciative Inquiry and Positive Psychology.
