Highlights: CI/CD: I have become a great believer in Continuous integration and (whenever possible) continuous delivery of high-quality software on a regular basis. I employ BDD/TDD disciplines not to achieve code coverage but as design tools. Heavily biased towards trunk-based development. Cloud native: You know, adopting cloud native patterns really means reapplying a lesson we learned long ago: Don't wait for multiple asynchronous processes to complete and then respond to your user. I'm better versed in AWS than other providers, but the concepts remain the same. For the better part of a decade, I was responsible for a large number of ad-hoc tasks, generally involving purportedly one-time reports or user data modifications. I put considerable effort into automating this process with a software infrastructure that allowed for extremely fast execution of said tasks. I combined object-oriented precepts with inspiration from Unix 'filter'​ programs to create an infrastructure that is flexible, powerful and easy to modify. Tasks that could reasonably be expected to take hours or days are often completed within minutes as a result.
