About John Lyons

My experience as Director of Utility has broadened my related knowledge. In answering directly to the CAO and keeping Mayor and council up to date, under my direction, budget management and government infrastructure programs have made multiple improvements in a short period of time. I am confident that my wide range of skills would be an asset to employers. A variety of life opportunities has given me experience with a wide span of applicable knowledge to Water and Sewer systems and Public Works Department. Initial training in Water and Sewer, and Water Treatment systems, led to supervisory opportunities in the Water and Sewer department. My greatest strengths in management are being organized and self-motivated, working with engineers planning upgrades, being able to garner the respect and motivation of work crews and management as a team player. My wide variety of experiences, coupled with my self-motivation, have enabled me to proactively maintain water and sewer infrastructure. I have cultivated excellent relationships with many engineering firms and approval holders at the Department of Health and the Department of Environment. I am committed to being a lifelong learner, and I encourage the work crew to do the same. I regularly coordinate presenters to offer courses for the department for everyone to stay current and up to date
