During my third year of law school, I practiced as a Student Attorney under supervision of the Hampden District Attorney's Office. I was able to argue countless arraignments, as well as a motion to suppress physical evidence and statements from a defendant. The motion was allowed as to the defendant's statements and denied as to the physical evidence. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to prepare for several trials, with two cases proceeding to final verdict. Both cases were charges of OUI, one went before a jury, although a mistrial lead to a bench trial instead, while the other case started as a bench trial from the outset. Ultimately, I lost the first case and won the second case, but in both instances I was able to gain experience and grow as a student and future attorney.
