About John Mandelker

John Mandelker’s 35-year career spans a wide range of consumer products and services, and B2B categories, with responsibilities for both domestic and international units. As a partner at Arch Equity Partner, he manages several of the firm's portfolio companies. His years as a line-operating manager has largely been for privately held companies. For the last decade, as CEO, he has led start-ups, revitalizations and turnarounds. John's last executive position was CEO of St. Louis, MO based Cabka, North America, the leader manufacturer of export plastic pallets and a plastics recycler. John’s assignments at Tubular Steel included Executive Vice President – Marketing, Sales and Operations. He led the creation and development of the manufactured parts division resulting in expanding the Company’s presence into Fortune 500 manufacturers, becoming the largest supplier of manufactured parts among steel service centers. During his Tapestry tenure, he is given credit for authoring the company’s product development strategy, which resulted in industry awards and creation of the mid market CTI product niche. At Sight & Sound Distributors, he transitioned a small wholesaler into the third largest film and video distributor in the world, including a fast growing European division. John attended Washington University in St. Louis, MO, and earned his Master’s of Science, Organizational Development at Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management. He has traveled to over 20 countries, is an avid tennis player and skier, and claims to excel at no sport. He resides in Ladue, MO with his wife Pamela. Specialties: Identifying core capabilities, discovering new markets that use these capabilities, developing and implementing the strategy to realize opportunity in new markets.
