About John Mantas

My teamwork and leadership skills have been honed since being a co-captain of the boy's basketball team at Christian Brother's Academy (Albany) in 2008 and continued to improve through four more successful years of organized team basketball at Skidmore College (2008-2012). Being a part of two very successful teams taught me teamwork, humility, grit, and the value of hard work and cooperation. At Skidmore College I graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology. I then transitioned from player to assistant coach at Skidmore College for two seasons (2013-2015) where my leadership, teaching, and personality management skills continued to improve. Once I realized I did not desire a future in coaching I turned my attention back to my undergraduate academic focus, psychology. In order to get the most out of my psychology degree I decided to follow my mother's footsteps and become a registered nurse. I enrolled in Utica College's Accelerated BA to BSN program and received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I earned Dean's List Honors 3/4 semesters, and passed the Licensing exam (NCLEX-RN) shortly after graduating. I am currently working as an RN at Ellis Medicine and I am enrolled in classes at Sage Graduate School of Health Sciences where I am pursuing a MSN in Behavioral Health. My end goal is to be a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and help people that seek mental health care.
