About John McCulloch

When I was a kid, I used movies to transport myself to new and exciting worlds that could change everything I thought I knew right from the comfort of my own home. It was a chance for a daydreaming kid from small town Massachusetts to discover endless possibilities through a TV screen. As I got older, matured, and grew facial hair, that realization was flipped on its head. I realized, within these fantastical and futuristic worlds, just how much I could learn about the world I was currently living in. As I transition into my professional career, I want to make kids, families, and adults experience what I did. To be a part of projects and stories that can teach, but can also make people feel. I’ve already learned so much about myself and the world around me in the opportunities that I’ve seized. My time at Middlebury College has allowed me to collaborate and make meaningful connections with others through my work as both a student and employee. I’ve learned essential technical and organizational skills through internships that have allowed me to scratch the surface of the infinite stories that can be told through the lens of a camera. My recent time abroad in Spain has opened my eyes to the sheer size and beauty of our diverse world as well as the stories that we carry within ourselves every day. I aim to find work that allows me to be my most authentic self while being enriched by the people around me. To use my skillset to tell other people’s stories (or my own) in new and exciting ways. And I’m constantly looking for more.
