About John McDowell

With over a decade of expertise in media management and content production, I’ve spearheaded projects with some of the world’s most iconic brands, including L’Oréal Paris, Nike, Johnson & Johnson, Macerich, Aveeno, Northwestern University, and various other Fortune 500 companies. My leadership and strategic approach have driven the development and execution of innovative digital content, with a focus on earned media, advertising, and branded storytelling. As Creative Producer and Co-Founder of Dugud Lab, I optimized creative operations and workflows in video production and still photography, leading sales, bidding processes, and fostering strong client-vendor relationships. I’ve successfully managed projects with a wide range of budgets and directed teams of 2–25 crew members during my tenure. In my role as Operations Director for Janet Mock, I oversaw day-to-day business operations, including bookings, project research, logistics, and public relations. I also provided on-set support for high-profile projects such as her MSNBC show So POPular, a book cover shoot with Mark Seliger, and her Super Soul Sunday appearance with Oprah Winfrey. As Strategic Initiatives Manager at Race Forward, I collaborated with the Executive Suite on strategic planning, team-building initiatives, and content management. I led an administrative team and successfully recruited and managed the volunteer network for the organization’s biennial Facing Race conference in 2014.
