I provide consulting services for healthcare systems, recently completing the evaluation and selection of an EMR for the international business units of a Fortune 500 healthcare organization. My strengths include medical/pharmacy informatics, requirements and use-case generation, system set-up/configuration, data evaluation, integration and the application of interoperability standards using FHIR, LOINC, SNOMED, RxNorm, First Databank and Medispan. I have experience across multiple business systems including clinical-clinical, clinical-billing and billing-accounting/finance data integrations and am TOGAF certified. I have practiced in the Enterprise Architecture and systems development and integration space for over 20 years My background in healthcare has been as a Clinical Pharmacist in both hospital and home infusion, evolving into clinical and operational systems implementation and management. I hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD), am board certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and am actively licensed as a pharmacist in California. The combination of both technical and clinical backgrounds allows me to bring unique insight to the healthcare technology space, supporting both clinician and business requirements. With DaVita, I have managed application development in the web and database arenas, have directed the Data Architecture, Data Quality and Data Integration teams.
