About John McGeachin

Hi, I'm John McG, I'm a comedy screenwriter based in Brisbane specialising in children's animation. A long standing relationship with Ludo Studios has seen me write on multiple Emmy award winning shows including #7DaysLater and Doodles. In 2018 I co-wrote an episode of international smash hit Bluey alongside creator Joe Brumm. In 2021 I received an AWGIE nomination for my work on the second season of The Strange Chores where I expanded my skill set from the first season by assuming the role of Lead Writer across all 26 episodes while also voicing numerous beloved characters. Most recently I co-wrote 10 episodes of Professor Eggtop's Extraordinary Experiments produced by Cosmic Dino Studio and completed work on a third season of 'Chores'. I have benefited from a number of industry placements over the years including an attachment at Hoodlum through Screen Queensland and participation in an AWG masterclass for aspiring animation screenwriters. I spend my free time parenting two sons and teaching school children the finer points of filmmaking and scriptwriting technique.
