In 1975, at age 17, I swore an oath to protect this country for the first time when I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. I was trained to be a Field Radio Operator/Infantry and after 6 months of active duty I was assigned to South Boston, Massachusetts to serve with the 4th Marine Division, 1st Battalion, 25th Marines,"New England's Own". I then enlisted in the United States Air Force and served on active duty from 1977 through 1981 as a Security Policeman/Security Specialist reaching the rank of Sergeant. Duty stations assigned were across the U. S. A. including Alaska and a tour in Saudi Arabia for Operation ELF One during the Iran/Iraq War. After being discharged, I gained valuable life experience working various jobs including that of a laborer for the Sharon Department of Public Works, Security Officer, Private Investigator, Corrections Officer, Security Director and then my 29 years career with the Sharon Police Department from 1985 through my retirement date of January 4, 2014. I rose through the ranks reaching the position of Deputy Chief of Police. I have extensive training in many facets of law enforcement including investigation and administration which were extremely beneficial in performing my duties as a Patrolman, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Deputy Chief. I am proud to have been the driving force in our department's community policing effort. I created many successful community policing programs and initiatives with most still popular and active. I was also the point man for "Homeland Security" plans in my capacities as Lieutenant, Patrol Division Commander and Deputy Chief of Police. I sought out and received unique and outstanding training to assist me with the responsibilities associated with that vitally important role. I served Sharon for four years as a Selectman, being elected in May of 2014 until May of 2018. I began working as an Executive Protection Agent for Pinkerton in May of 2017 and continue in that position presently.
