Backend Software Engineer from England living in Madrid, Spain. I have worked with a wide variety of technologies for large software development teams. I have experience working both on smaller scale web apps to large microservice based infrastructures. I've worked many different backend services from internal REST APIs with async communication via message brokers such as Kafka and RabbitMQ to BFFs for mobile apps, public APIs and internal backoffice web apps. My primary experience has been with Ruby on Rails and Postgres but have also worked with Elixir and some JVM based languages such as Kotlin and Groovy. I love working on dynamic teams and debating high-level architectural decisions and particularly love understanding a user facing product and finding the best ways to provide value and enhance the user experience.
