About John Monroe

My strengths are in analysis and planning. I have been used extensively in positions with customer interaction. My previous experience has usually been as a mainframe programmer/analyst - MVS, COBOL, JCL. Though I had had some exposure previously to them, I had to learn PL/1 and SAS for a long-term project - we used SAS to quickly produce data files or basic reports; we do not use it for statistical purposes. I recently had an opportunity to move away from the development side of mainframe work, and learn more about the backroom part of a computer department - the implementing of mainframe job and programme components, and the scheduling new and user-requested jobs in the mainframe environment. It might not be cutting edge technology but it satisfies my curiousity leftover from previous mainframe development projects.
