About John Mooney

After many years working in London, I joined US and UK Tax Services Limited (which was started by my wife, Louise) in the mistaken belief that I would get to take things a bit more slowly. Our main specialism is providing US and UK tax services (both compliance and advisory) to our individual clients who are mostly US individuals living in the UK. However, we do have many non-US clients to whom we provide UK tax services only. Our prime objective is to provide a high quality service to our clients. We are based outside London and are able to offer reasonable rates which are roughly 50% of those prevailing at the larger firms, while also offering superior service. We are now looking to expand our offering to reflect my past experience which is summarised below. After some years with the UK Inland Revenue, I worked within the “Big 4”accountancy firms advising a wide range of corporations of all sizes on international tax and social security matters affecting them and their employees on overseas assignment. I also had overall responsibility for the provision of a UK and US tax return service for a wide range of corporate clients from many industry sectors. I have worked as an internal tax resource with responsibility for developing and implementing tax-effective remuneration plans, managing corporate risk in terms of cost and reputation, and ensuring full compliance in respect of income tax and social security tax withholding and reporting requirements. At Abbiss Cadres, I had responsibility for the firm's international assignments practice as well as all UK and international tax and social security issues affecting our clients and their employees.
