About John Morcilio

Although my work experience is deeply rooted in the hospitality and restaurant industry, I spent my career gaining skills and expertise in various forms. At a restaurant I spent a good portion of my career at, I worked my way up to lead service & sales trainer. I developed a food service module called "Serving Food for Thought". That restaurant module was used to take that location from 17th to 3rd in wine and alcohol sales, in a company of over 40 restaurants, behind only the Las Vegas and Orlando."Serving Food for Thought" was the foundation for my restaurant consulting business, Personal Touch Hospitality Consulting, where I trained servers of smaller, independent restaurants, how to raise their tip percentages and overall sales by implementing new work practices, sales techniques, and personality. We also offered event planning, staffing, and hosting, along with our consulting services like Food and Bar menu design, dining room layout planning, social media management, marketing, advertising, and more. My most recent career experiences have come from my wine and media brand, Urban Wine Tribe. This brand was designed to bring awareness to the wine industry by building bridges and parallels to urban culture and main stream media. Urban Wine Tribe has worked with over 70 brands and businesses, and has filmed over 20 "made for TV" wine concepts in over 5 countries and counting. We have also created a superhero comic series, fighting the false stereotypes of wine culture and those who uphold them. In addition to these experiences, I have written for several online magazine publications and blogs, hosted numerous live and virtual wine events, and have been recognized as a trailblazer and pioneer within the wine industry by a leading industry publication. Within my hospitality career and entrepreneurial endeavors, I have also learned photography, videography, editing, production, influencer marketing, advertising, sales, content creation, and so much more. With all of these experiences, I believe i offer a diverse array of skillsets and knowledge that would be an asset to any business and/or industry. In addition to that, I'm an honest, good willed human being that gains opportunity and success by just doing my best to be a damn good human being!
