John Morehead is Director of Wain Morehead Architects Ltd, a Cork based Architectural firm synonymous with the delivery of ecologically friendly, energy-efficient architecture for over 25 years. John also holds qualifications in Project Management, Thermography, and has been a BER assessor for Domestic and Non Domestic Buildings since 2007. John is one of the 1st tranches of Certified European Passive House Designers in 2010, has with WMA delivered a number of fully Certified Passive House projects and the attained the first ever to the Gold HPI standard awarded by the IGBC. John secured EU and UK patents for integrated IR duct valves for low energy ventilation systems and continues to explore how the practice of Architecture through the Arts and Sciences can drive the delivery of high-performance buildings. Ably assisted by his practice at WMA he provides support to the Industry with Building Physics and Energy Modelling services with Hygrothermal, Passive House (PHPP), Daylighting, EXEED and NSAI approved Thermal Modelling services. John is the industry based external examiner for the TUDublin MSc in Building Performance (Energy Efficiency in Design).
