About John Mulet

I began my law enforcement career in 1990 as a Special Agent trainee in the United States Customs Service, and concluded it in 2006 when I retired as a police officer from the New York City Police Department due to injuries sustained in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. During my career in law enforcement, I have worked in a wide variety of assignments including complex federal criminal investigations, street patrol in one of New York City's most dangerous commands, community policing, narcotics, training, the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Community Affairs, and the New York City Police Commissioner's Office. I have been a tactical instructor and an NYPD and New York State Municipal Police Training Council certified Police Academy instructor, as well as a field training officer. I have written curriculums and have been the lead author on major projects for the NYPD. I have trained organizations ranging from small community anti-crime programs to the U.S. Navy Staff College. I am a professional associate of the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police and have consulted with them on issues related to law enforcement mental health and wellness. I have been a presenter and instructor to multiple local police departments. I have advised New Hampshire's U.S. Senators as a law enforcement mental health subject matter expert, and have testified before the New Hampshire commission on PTSD and first responders. In 2020 I founded Mission First Partners. MFP is a New Hampshire based law enforcement and security consulting and training firm. In 2022 MFP moved its security consulting business into its own division within the company. We utilize our extensive law enforcement experience and skillset to provide our clients with institutional security, threat vulnerability, and risk assessments focused on the education and healthcare sectors, as well as a complete array of security services and training. In addition to having multiple U.S. Department of Homeland Security and FEMA Emergency Management, counter terrorism, and incident command training, I am an NFPA certified Active Shooter/Hostile Event Response (ASHER) Program Specialist certified to the analysis (highest) level of the most current NFPA (2021) standards.
