About John Mullins

I have been a lawyer for what seems like a long time. I was admitted as a solicitor on 20 July 1981. My goal as a lawyer is not just give legal advice, but to actually help my clients. After nearly 35 years in the role, in 2015 I stood down as Managing Partner of the Firm. During my time as Managing Partner the firm grew from 1 to 18 partners. My proudest achievement has been that despite this growth, the firm’s values and commitment to integrity have never changed. Today I focus on my skills as a commercial lawyer principally in the sports sector. I advise a range of clients from state and national sporting organisations to event organisers to stadium owners and operators to sports managers and professional and amateur sportsmen, sponsors, government and government entities. Mullins Lawyers is proud to have the best Sports Law practice in Queensland developed over many years. In addition, we advise the wider not-for-profit sector including all nature of clubs and community organisations. I am a Board Member of the Bulls Masters Limited. I was a member of the Committee of the Tattersalls Club. I stood down from the Board of QSport after 11 years. I really enjoyed my involvement in these organisations which contribute significantly to sport and the community in Queensland. I am a Life Member of Easts Rugby, Queensland Cricketers' Club, and Tattersalls Club. I have been involved in sporting judiciaries either as a member of or appearing before judiciary or appeals committees for a wide range of sports for more than 30 years.
