HOW I ADD VALUE TO LEGAL TEAMS MULTIDISCIPLINARY LEGAL EXPERIENCE • EXCELLENT RESEARCH & WRITING SKILLS During law school, I sought opportunities to broaden my perspective and knowledge. I did this largely through the diversity of my practical experiences and on-campus activities I became involved in. My first experience was a JUDICIAL EXTERNSHIP in Florida’s Middle District Bankruptcy Court, which is the second most populated district in the U.S. By conducting research & producing summaries for the judge, I gained an in-depth understanding of court proceedings and the role of judicial staff. After the externship, my clerkship & legal positions were in private firms practicing diverse areas of law. As a LAW CLERK, I supported four attorneys in a personal injury law & litigation firm. Here, I drafted over 100 documents, including briefs, pleadings, and client correspondence related to litigation. My writing skills strengthened immensely through this experience. I accepted a position as an EXECUTIVE LEGAL ASSISTANT, working on a short-term project for Boars Head, exposing me to corporate law, patents and trademarks, intellectual property, and commercial litigation. My most recent position is a PARALEGAL for a firm with offices in two states, practicing defense litigation and corporate counsel. I coordinate with two attorneys but work autonomously to assist with pre- and post-litigation work, including extensive discovery, document writing, and trial preparation. Because of this and my commitment to quality work, I have been entrusted with direct client communications, management of complex projects, and confidential information. PRODUCTIVE WORK STRATEGIES In more than one of my legal roles, I proactively organized client files and gathered necessary information for case management and trial preparation, alleviating the workload of attorneys and improving access to key client information. CIVIC LEADERSHIP I am passionate about using my talents and energy to lift others up, promote equality of rights, and ensure quality representation for all. Fortunately, my work often fuels this passion, but I also remain active in my community and professional organizations.
